CHEMICAL TANKER ACTIVITIES
Westfal-Larsen’s chemical tanker business is a fully integrated shipping organisation consisting of ownership of the vessels as well as both technical and commercial management conducted from Westfal-Larsen’s offices in Bergen.
A large variety of cargoes travel the world in Westfal-Larsen´s modern vessels, staffed by experienced seafarers and managed by highly qualified personnel. Methanol is the most important cargo transported by Westfal-Larsen´s chemical tankers, and requires specialised knowledge of the products (of which conditions, handling and risk factors are all of prime importance).
Westfal-Larsen & Co AS and Welco Eco Ship AS are the ship owners, while Westfal-Larsen Management AS is the technical manager and Westchart AS is the commercial manager.
OPEN HATCH DRY CARGO ACTIVITIES
Our fleet of 16 box-shaped open hatch vessels which are equipped with gantry cranes, is designed to handle all kinds of forestry cargoes. Fully equipped, all the vessels in the fleet have the best and latest technology available for handling a wide variety of cargoes.
The vessels are humidity controlled, assuring suitable conditions during loading and discharging. In addition to the primary cargoes (forestry products), the vessels can also carry project cargoes, containers, ores, grains and other bulk loads as well as a significant variety of unitized cargoes.
Masterbulk AS is the owner of the vessels.
All the open hatch vessels are commercially managed by and operated in the Saga Welco pool.
